any impact on running the server if tuning network parameters

I was told by the application that we need to tune the parameter of socket_udp_rcvbuf_default and socket_udp_sndbuf_default by 2/3 of current values.

My question is, is any impact on running the server by doing so online, and why?

Results might vary by OS.

Any change to network parameters can cause networking to stop short term or crash the box.

I would test this on a lab computer first.

We are running 11.23.

Yes. We certainly wanted to do it on Dev box first.

But, is there any conceptual explaination on what could happen? I raed some docs, it seems they did not indicate any thing on impact. but did not mention anything as you said crash the box...
