Re: Any one with the PA-RISC group ???

Shalom,

I don't work here.

However the last generation of PA-RISC chips according to my information has already been developed.

HP is trying to get everyone to migrate to Itanium line of chips.

Re: Any one with the PA-RISC group ???

I don't work at HP currently, but I always understood that there are no more PA-RISC chips beyond the current PA-8900. It is the last one. However, the SX-2000 chipset that was introduced with the Itanium Monetico based rx7640, rx8640 and SX-2000 based Integrity Superdome is also compatible with the pa-8900 processor. With its faster buses, faster I/O and faster cross-bar connections between cell-boards, HP could build machines based on the SX-2000 using the PA-8900 process and get another performance boost without a new PA-RISC chip. I am very confident that they will do that for the cell based mid-range and high-end servers. I suggest that you get a non-disclosure from HP, or tune into their webcast on February 15th.
