I'm trying to recover a customer system, but whereby someone (not me!), has updated the installed operating system beyond the HP-UX Boot/Install DVD that had previously been left on site (this being June 2007).
Ignite onsite is C.7.8.201 for HP-UX 11.23
The June 2007 11.23 DVD version appears to be C.7.2.94, so booting from this results in the "libdld.so is missing" message when try to use Ignite tape and it fails.
A September 2009 DVD appears to then be on Ignite version C.7.9.254, so booting from this results in Ignite reporting there's a mismatch and they must be the same (which I already know from previous experience)
So, essentially, of the two DVD's available: One is too old, the other is too new.
Is there any way (or any table anywhere), that identifies which Ignite version belongs to which HP-UX Boot DVD dated release set please?
Many thanks in advance Gurus!
Paul

Re: Any way to identify/match Ignite versions to HP-UX release DVD versions/dates?
Hello Paul,
It is very difficult to identify the ignite versions available with HP-UX 11.23 since they are no longer available .
It seems you have DVD of 2007 with ignite version C.7.8.201 and 2009 DVD with version C.7.9.254, both of them failing with errors .
Assuming the OE installed in server would be 2008, and the ignite version available on this DVD is C.7.6.98 .
You may try with this version and see if that helps provided you have the depot available with you .

SolutionThanks for your answer.
I found the answer is to use the example Ignite script, that allows you to create a bootable .iso image, from the customer's existing installed version of Ignite - and this has worked perfectly!
All sorted now thank you
