Here's something quick for you to check:
cd /opt/Acrobat4/browsers
make sure there is a file called netscape in there with 555 or better permissions. Ie: root:sys 755
Without this file, Acrobat 4 reader will not be available for Netscape.

Good luck,
Kel

Hi,
Let me rephrase that a little.
This file is a script.
Running it will assist you in intregrating Acrobat to Netscape.
Good luck,
Kel

(Sorry about the first post. It was poorly written. Can I blame it on Monday?)

Re: Anyone managed to get netscape6 to read pdf files using acrobat4?

Acrobat5 does not seem to be available for HP/UX.

I already tried running the netscape script in the Browsers directory - it didn't fail but netscape still doesn't open pdf files propperly.

I tried configuring the plug-in (nppdf.so) as a helper application within netscape (edit -> preferences -> navigator -> helper applications) but that doesn't work either.

Has anyone had any success using netscape6 on hp/ux to open pdf files?

Thanks for the replies but still no joy!

I wasn't aware that Netscape 6 was available on HP-UX.

Netscape 6.2 System Requirements

You can run Netscape 6.2 on computers with Windows, Mac OS, and
Linux operating systems.

Did I miss something?

Cool, thanks. That will teach me to trust the Netscape site.

Hi,
Here's a link for you.

http://www.hp.com/workstations/products/unix/software/netscape/ver_6/faqs.html

There's an interesting note in this faqs page that should help:

"There are currently no third-party plugins available for Netscape 6, but as they become available, they will be announced on the HP Netscape Plugin home page. The Adobe Acrobat reader can be installed as a helper application, however, giving users access to .PDF files. Instructions for installing Acrobat are given in the README-N6 file."

Good luck,
Kel
