Anyone using LDAP (with Win2K/2003 as master) on HPUX ?

There are moves to centralize account management from local files based/NIS to LDAP on Windows... so we'll have finally one management of Windows and UNIX accounts?

Anyone doing this successfully already? And are their any procedures/best practices documents somewhere?

Hello,

I think it is a better choice to wait for the 3.0 version of HP CIFS : this will be available soon, according to the software depot (http://software.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=CIFSTP3), and supported by HP.

This is not actually in relation to SAMBA but as a general account management strategy. There is a move to consolidate identity/account management based on LDAP.. so user accounts are centralised for both UNIX/LINUX and Windows.

We did this last month, now we only use active directory to manage unix(hpux)user account. http://docs.hp.com/hpux/pdf/J4269-90017.pdf is our bible to do this stuff.
I hope this could help.
