Apache htpasswd error

Apache htpasswd error

I have just installed Apache. When running htpasswd with the following command:

htpasswd -c /home/oracle/Apache/Apache/etc/passwd webmaster

I get:

htpasswd: unable to create temporary file
fopen: No such file or directory

The passwd file is created with a length of 0 after I run the command and get the error.

Any ideas?

Chris:

The link to usenix.org/sage didn't help. I can't find anything (maybe I'm just blind) that helps with my problem. I have Apache up and running, serving up html, java servlets...I am now playing with securing directories and can't get a password file created.

Re: Apache htpasswd error

Richard sorry that I am not of much help. Why don't you send a mail to senta.buck@diax.ch or to Andreas Voss. You have the same problem she has.
