Apache web sever DB backup
I want to backup Apache web server Data base. The DB is mySQL. Because I want to re-install Apache web server. Does anyone has any suggestions how to backup Apache web server DB with MYSQL. Thanks.

Apache is merely the content delivery mode in this case. All you have to do to get a backup with mysql is run a stanard backup script.
Best case is to shut the database and then copy all the database files to tape or another disk location. Apache can be left up, the users will just get an error message or hang when they log in.
You can probably upgrade the apache server with no issues. What you need to do is make sure the upgrade has the proper modules installed to access mysql.
