Apollo 715/50 replace damaged Disk's
we have Apollo 715/50 as operatorstation for an process control system. One of the two harddisk (512MB) are damaged. I try to replace the disk with an Seagate ST51080N Disk (1GB).
When i start them i can not see the new disk in the scsi device table. I have checked the jumpers on the disk and think it is ok. I put the seagte in mi PC and there work this.
Is it possible that the seagte st51080N not work in a apollo 715/50?
Please excuse my wrong english. I'am correspond infrequently in english laguage.
regards

Re: Apollo 715/50 replace damaged Disk's
Your English is as good as mine :-)
Search google for a A2084-60002 or a A2084-69002
A2084-69002
Hard Drive - 1GB, 3.5in Full Height - Includes Attached Single Ended SCSI Controller Board (Uses Internal SCSI I/O)
Hope this helps,

Re: Apollo 715/50 replace damaged Disk's
Regarding the ST51080N: This is a drive that, for some reason, hoses the SCSI bus (only when it's on the bus with another drive). Better to get a ST31230N, which is already in disktab. Hope this helps.

Re: Apollo 715/50 replace damaged Disk's
Not sure why the 715 is not seeing the drive. But, below is the list of drives that we use install when we build the 715 boxes. Maybe its not supported in the 715. I would try one of these drives. Be aware 1GB drive are really old so make sure it works before you buy it.
ST11200N
ST11200N
ST11201N
ST11900N
ST11950N
ST31051N
ST31055N
ST31060N
ST31080N
ST31200N
ST31230N
ST31231N
ST31250N
