Re: Assigned and Unassigned state for LUNS

Hi,

From your attached output file, it looks like the alternate disks are set to unassigned.

Do you have access to the Clariion manuals, it might provide some info on the output.

Re: Assigned and Unassigned state for LUNS

Maybe the UNASSIGN devices are alternate paths to the same LUN.

Re: Assigned and Unassigned state for LUNS

You are right there are alternate paths but concern is we have 8 paths for each device and there are 32 devices. it makes 32*8=256 in total but i am getting 128 Assigned and 128 Unassigned. if it is showing the alternate paths as unassigned then it shoud be 32 Assigned and 224 as Unassigned.
please correct me if i am wrong.
it is showing as c12txdx 19 disks assigned and other or unassigned similarly c13txdx 13 Assigned and others or unassigned.

Re: Assigned and Unassigned state for LUNS

Hi,

Have you tried different configurations to test the stated theory?

Given you have the primary links in place with a number of Alt paths, reduce them and the fail-over and then do status to see if it has changed.

O'cause this is if you can take the machine offline.
