Re: ATS Problem
Are you using a FC SCSI MUX to connect the Tape robotics to the two nodes?
If not then what you are trying to do is not supported and does not work.
ATS tape sharing is only supported by direct connecting two nodes to an FC SCSI MUX, and then attaching the robotics to the SCSI side of the MUX.
Please refer to: http://docs.hp.com/hpux/onlinedocs/B3936-90032/B3936-90032.html
for further details

Re: ATS Problem
Hello Melvyn,
Thanks for your reply! So if I use the FC switch to connect the DLT 2/20 it is not HP support solution right?
Cheers,
Anthony Cheng

Re: ATS Problem
Hello Anthony,
The supported configuration is shown in detail in the "Using Advanced Tape Services" manual located at this site:
http://docs.hp.com/hpux/ha/index.html#ServiceGuard
A graphic is shown in section "Overview of Advanced Tape Services" under "ATS Configuration Samples".
There, we see 2 nodes connected to a fibre-channel SCSI MUX which Melvyn referred to, and from the SCSI MUX to the tape library. The SCSI MUX is essential to the connection.
If the configuration is not laid out in this manner, HP will not guarantee it's success.
