automountd

We have an smbserver and the home directorys are shared from server.

Usually it works fine, but the programs are hanging after a time, the onlz one log is onlz on the clients(syslog.log):
automountd[629]: server not responding

What is the problem? What is this fail code 629?

Re: automountd

Hi,

what is in the samba log?
629 is the process id of the automountd

Re: automountd

We have 6 machines from this sort, on all is the problem like this, but with another fail code: 630; 636

In the mounted home directorys I can easy browse and so on(I have no write rights), but if I use a programm that runs from this(its a java programm) it hangs, I look in the syslog and:automountd[629]: server not responding

What should I do on the server

Re: automountd

"629 is the process id of the automountd"

I have checked the log files in /var/opt/samba
but nothing, the latest is 22mar , but the problem is on 26.

Re: automountd

Hi
I haven't this g option, but with -a and after a display menu I can see this values:
Inbound Octets=331808107
Inbound Unicast packets=9193976
Inbound Non-Unicast Packets=350708
Inbound Discards=0
Inbound Errors=3
Outbound Octets=396258213
Outbound Non-Unicast Packets=42
Outbound Discards=0
OutboundErrors=1319
...

You must know, that the problemfull day was friday, but at the moment nobody uses this station.
Can be the root cause, that this programm uses UDP and the to much errors occours this problem(The program hangs which is running from an smbd mounted partition, only one log is automountd error, as above)
