B180L workstation unix 11.i installation problem
I am having trouble loading hpux 11.i onto a B180L workstation. During the install I get the following error everytime on two different workstations:
Installing fileset "SW-DIST.SD-CMDS, r= B.11.11.0303" (41 of 656)
diagnostic logging facility has started receiving excessive errors from the I/O subsystem
ERROR: RPC exception: "Communication failure (dce/rpc)"
ERROR: could not perform the requested operation for "loopback:/"
The operating system software has not been loaded. the swinstall application was not completed or failed to load some key files
1. Change the swinstall server and/or depot information
2. Retry software load process (non-interactive mode)
3. Retry software load process (interactive mode)
4. Run a shell
here it hangs... or waits for my response. Why is the operating system not loading? Thanks.

Re: B180L workstation unix 11.i installation problem
You are loading the 32 bit version, right? That's all that's supported on the B180L:http://www.hp.com/cgi-bin/pf-new.cgi?IN=/workstations/risc/standard/operating/support_matrix/update.html

Re: B180L workstation unix 11.i installation problem
Most current firmware for the B180L is 6.1 & is available here:
http://www2.itrc.hp.com/service/patch/patchDetail.do?BC=patch.breadcrumb.main|patch.breadcrumb.search|&patchid=PF_CB1X0061&context=firmware:cpu
You can get the firmware from the ITRC homepage -> Patch Database -> firmware
Then I pull down CPU in one menu & browse in the other before I click search. This brings up every firmware available - several pages worth.
HTH,
Jeff
