B3901BA LICENSING ISSUE
Hi all
We have a customer who bought from us an HP C3700 workstation, running HP UX 11.0. (His application cannot use the HP UX 11.i version).
He needs the B3901BA C++ ANSI developers bundle for HPUX 11.0.
As it’s obsolete for 3 years now, we ordered from HP the B9007AA C++/ANSI C Developer’s Bundle license for HPUX 11i and the T2354AA HP-UX 11i Application DVD SW-Kit.
But this can not be used, as it’s made for HP UX 11.i.
Then, our customer has the B3901BA media for HPUX 11.0, but he cannot run it, because he hasn’t the codeword for it.
So, our customer paid for a license that cannot be used in the HPUX 11.0 environment.
The question is: as the codeword that came with the B9007AA doesn’t work on HP-UX 11.0, would it be possible to get from HP a valid codeword for the B3901BA (HPUX 11.0)?
Thanks for your help

Re: B3901BA LICENSING ISSUE
Hi Christian,
I would try to mail HP, and try to get the old codeword for B3901BA. Below you can find the the link to the Software License Manager, use the " submit your password/codeword request to HP Licensing Services ".

Re: B3901BA LICENSING ISSUE
Hi Robert-Jan
According to you advice, I mailed HP, and they replied me that to get a codeword for the old B3901BA, the customer needs to subscribe a support contract that will allow him to get a downgrade.
this is not exactly the reply I was expecting, because I dont think that the customer planned to subscribe the support contract, but that's life...
A clear reply is better than nothing
thank you anyway
