B8my interface problem ... suite
well ...
lanscan show me:
path: 2.0.2
adress: 0x08000949B9E0
lu: 0
State DOWN
Name unit: lan0
State: down
Id: 4
Methods Ether
Mjr Num:52
To setup my lan card I type:
ifconfig lan0 up then I have: no such interface !
But when I type: ifconfig lan0 10.18.12.1 it fonctions very well !
netstat -ni give me:
lan0* 1500 10 10.18.12.1 ...etc
then it shows me that the interface is down ... but I'm unable to rise it up !
And lanadmin is not usable under HPUX 9.05 ... I don't have it !
I'm connecting two stations via the "Thin Lan" interface thanks to a coax ! I have the same problem on both stations !
Thanks for your help.

Re: B8my interface problem ... suite
Hi Dominique,
What is your hardware and OS configuration ?. If you are using a BNC / AUI Card you may have to set the jumper setting on the controller to make it choose between the BNC / AUI port. Can you post the part code of the Lan controller you are using and also your hardware ?.
Thanks

Re: B8my interface problem ... suite
Hi dominique,
Seems like your this question is a continuation of the thread posted by you earlier,
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/QuestionAnswer/1,,0x8d4c7b8d1de3d5118ff40090279cd0f9,00.html
You can try to configure the lan card in the manner suggested below,
http://docs.hp.com/cgi-bin/fsearch/framedisplay?top=/hpux/onlinedocs/B2355-90147/B2355-90147_top.html&con=/hpux/onlinedocs/B2355-90147/00/00/10-con.html&toc=/hpux/onlinedocs/B2355-90147/00/00/10-toc.html&searchterms=host%7cnot%7creachable&queryid=20011129-134648
Hope this helps.
