Re: back logged false for print queue in SAM

Im not sure exactly of your question.

So youve setup a new printer queue but cant print to it ? and now you have print jobs in the queue which arent printing ?

Is the printer a network printer (to an IP address) or a remote printer to another server?

If its a network printer can you ping the printer ?
If its a remote printer can you check the queue on the remote server and see if you can print to if from there and the queue is enabled ?

Im from Palmerston North, New Zealand, but somehow ended up in London...

The printer is a network printer and ping on the ip address is good.

Re: back logged false for print queue in SAM

Have you tried stopping the scheduler (lpshut) and then check theres no hung lp processes left running, ps -elf | grep lp and it any kill them off, then restart the spooler (lpsched -v -a), this will turn on logging this time so if we get a bad response back from the printer it will be in /var/adm/lp/log
Have you checked the printer is online and READY ?

I don't know... if I understand your Problem... but i will try..

you "say" SAP which printer do you want to use to print out... take the "Unix" - Printer name.

Remove the Printer and install it again directly with jetadmin
/opt/hpnp/bin/jetadmin
(for new printer)
chose 1
then 3

(to delete printer)
chose 1
then 4

after that... stop the printer queue and restart it...(on SAM)
hope that "helps"...
