Bad LIF magic error installing 11.0
Tyring to install 11.0 when performing the
following : bo alt 8/16/5.2.0
Interact with IPL (Y,N, or Cancel )?> n
Booting ...
Boot IO Dependent Code (IODC) revision 1
IPL error : bad LIF magic
Error Reading IPL
CPU 0
Warning: Memory has been initialized, but not
tested as a result of FASTBOOT being enabled.
To test memory, use the FASTBOOT command in the
CONFIGURATION menu and reboot the system.
Also performed a "search ipl"
and tried to boot using the following
bo alt P1
Still get the same result
following : bo alt 8/16/5.2.0

Just boot using one arguement,
bo alt
or
bo P1
or
bo 8/16/5.2.0

Hi James,
Also make sure you are using the correct CD and the correct cdrom drive. You should be using the Core OS Media CD to install the OS.

Hi,
You can always give the sea command (search) and it will list all the devices like p1, p2 etc
If you know the ID of the cdrom device eg. p2 the just give
bo p2
or else just give,
bo alt ( remeber the alternate boot device should be set to cdrom and not tape drive - in most of the systems the alternate boot device is a tape drive )
Then it will start installing from the CD.
