Re: bad LIF magic when booting from DVD

Maybe something is wrong with DVD. I have never used it. I will boot from the primary and see if I can read the disk.

Re: bad LIF magic when booting from DVD

John,

Try with a different media, if that still gives the same error then updgrade the firmware on the machine.

Re: bad LIF magic when booting from DVD

I am so dumb. I was trying to boot from the other hard disk, which does not have mirrordisk installed. I think my DVD is out. I cannot see it when I ioscan.

Re: bad LIF magic when booting from DVD

Shalom,

I got this on a PA-RISC 11.31 install a week or so ago.

I was trying to boot off an application disk instead of a core OS DVD.

The coloring is similar.

Re: bad LIF magic when booting from DVD

I think this is maybe an rp7420 or similar.

1/0/1/1/0/1/1.6 is an internal disk.

Depending on the server model the internal DVD is accessible from the nPar that owns cell1, path is

1/0/0/3/1.2

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: bad LIF magic when booting from DVD

The cable on the DBD was not plugged in. HP came in, took it apart and plugged it in. It now shows up and lets me access.
