Re: bastille Freezing

I don't know what you are trying to do, but Bastille is an interactive product. It asks questions and you need to answer them.

Though I'm sure its possible to provide and answer/settings file, my guess is you've not provided correct information.

ps -ef | grep -i bastille

Then kill the processes.

Then run it interactively in X Windows.

Stuck smelling the salad but not eating the salad.

Re: bastille Freezing

kill -9 process id.

If that doesn't work boot your system.

You're sure the config file is right?

I can see no reason for it to hang other than that or no disk space or lack of resources.

I'd actually like to see an example config file for my own edification.

Re: bastille Freezing

If kill -9 doesn't work, and you really don't want to reboot, you could hunt down the hung process by using ipcs then use ipcrm to remove it from memory. It's kind of dangerous, but it can do the trick. I had to do it on my old HP-UX 9.0 box with Novell 3.0 (UGH!!!) I couldn't ever get Novell to kill cleanly, so I just scraped it out of memory.

Hope this helps

Okay, I KNOW that I posted to this thread yesterday and it was there yesterday after I posted it...

Someone removed my post from this message. I would like to know who did it.

My answer was a valid response with no inflamitory or inappropriate usage.

Re: bastille Freezing

Oh my bad... there seems to be a duplicate post by the user...

One is titled Bastiller Freezing, the other is titled Bastille Freezing..

No points here... but feel free to assign me points on the other duplicate before one of these being removed.
