Best Stripe size for Raw sequential I/O?
Hi all,
Any idea on what's the best size for sequential Sybase Raw I/O on LVM ? Sybase block size is 2k, since it's sequential, should I set it to 64K?

Re: Best Stripe size for Raw sequential I/O?
Hi Gordon,
This may well depend on the hardware (disk array) your using.
If your using RAID 5 in your disk array is probably not a great idea as you may not benefit at from doing any striping.

Re: Best Stripe size for Raw sequential I/O?
Hi Michael,
Our array run in Raid 0/1 with hardware striping. Read from other post that it may not be a good idea to use LVM striping when H/W scripting is ready, any comment?
