boot and shutdown hang on DHCP_Server check

I have a HP 735 with 10.20 installed that hangs on /sbin/auto_parms checking for the DHCP_Server. This system is on an internal network with another HP,an NT machine, and a variety of plotters(650,755,and 1050). I am able to CTRL+SHIFT+| out and get to a command line prompt. I have verified that DCHP_ENABLE in the the netconf file is set to 0, and made sure that not other netconf files exist in /etc/rc.config.d directory. I have re-input the host name and IP address and other network parameters using set_parms. I cannot ping myself or anyone else, but I can ping the loopback. I have even disconnected from the network and tried to shutdown or reboot and get the same problems. We recently installed an upgraded version of JetDirect E.10.05 to adminster a new 1050CM plotter prior to this problem. Any advice anyone could give would be greatly appreciated.

Re: boot and shutdown hang on DHCP_Server check

Check the /etc/rc.log file, as well as the /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log file for any errors, it may be that the machine is not hanging on the DHCP, but some other network daemon.

If the DHCP is disabled as you say, it should not be listening at all... how does the DNS side of things look?
