Boot disk failed

Hi
We have a brand new rx4640 server and have added a SAN30 to it . paritions were created using the pvcreate, vgcreate and lvm tools. The partitons were mounted manually and added in the fstab . However upon rebooting we have this error message:

Load of HP-UX Primary Boot:0/1/1/0/4/0.0.0 failed: Not found !!!

Is there a way to recover the system back !!!

Re: Boot disk failed

Fornax,

In EFI Boot Manager Menu , in 'Boot Option maintenance menu' check the boot disk configuration details. And Check if this path (0/1/1/0/4/0.0.0) is pointing to the correct boot disk,

cheers,
Raj.

Re: Boot disk failed

Hi

The boot option is already present. Furthermore in the efi shell i can only see the following

Viewing the logical vol it is there ...and using map - r I get the blkx

fs0: Acpi(HWP0002,0)/Pci (3:0)/Ata(Primary Master)/CDROM(Entry0)
blk0: Acpi(HWP0002,100)/Pci (1:0)/Pci(4:0)/Scsi (Pun0, Lun0)
blk1: Acpi(HWP0002,100)/Pci (1:0)/Pci(4:0)/Scsi (Pun0, Lun1)
blk2: Acpi(HWP0002,0)/Pci (3:0)/Ata(Primary Master)
blk3: Acpi(HWP0002,0)/Pci (3:0)/Ata(Primary Master)/CDROM(Entry0)

The cdrom is mounted and can read it .

I have tried to put a dvd to see if it is being mounted properly.

Can please tell me wot next can i try !!!

Thanxs

Re: Boot disk failed

Hi,

do you know where your boot disk is?
Have you done a search (SEA) to find bootable devices except the cdrom?
