Re: boot error message

Hi,

I guess the image is mounted, but not bootable. Looks like the system is attempting to boot from the (virtual) DVD.

How did you create the image?

I successfully did it with this command:
dd if=/dev/rdsk/ of=/image.iso bs=2k

It takes a while, but it's working.

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: boot error message

Navin,

Any solution to this.

Just ran into the same issue..

Have loaded Virtual guests before but now running into same problem.

hpvmmodify -P guest1 -a dvd:scsi::disk:/dev/rdsk/c0t0d0

( c0t0d0 is device for DVD )

Re: boot error message

What version of VM software and what DVD image?

In the early days of VMs There were cases where the DVD image contained a compressed kernel and the VM software didn't know how to deal with a compressed kernal (but I think this was all fixed with v2 of VMs)
