Boot Failed
I just received 6 pr2470 ( A500-750) , OS 11.0.
Non of the Boxes will boot up ( I was assured the the OS came factory Installed). HP engineer verified
No bootable LIF area.
I tried booting from an IGNITE Tape created from the A500-550.
Again, no success.
Any Ideas/suggestions
many thanks in advance

Re: Boot Failed
You could try to boot off a maintenance CD and create the LIF area. This assumes the boot disk was created with the "pvcreate -B" option and the LIF area is there but not populated.
If there is no space for the LIF area, you will have to do a cold install. Do a cold install on one machine, and use ignite to clone the rest.

Re: Boot Failed
Its always better to do a cold install for one Server and then do the ignite recovery on the other four.
The tape what you have created on the existing A class also should work. Can you let us know exactly where it is failing? May be the new A class is having latest CPU, that is why it is failing.
Try to do a interactive recovery from the ignite tape.
