Boot from HP Auto Raid 12H
Hi,
I installed HPUX 11.00 in HP Auto 12H some time back and switched off completed for a month as I didn't required that system. Now when I tried to rebot the same system which is connected to D-Class is not booting saying that there is no boot path. How can I get it back as I done so much data on that.

Re: Boot from HP Auto Raid 12H
Nagaraj,
Did you verify that the D-class boots from the right path? In that case I'm afraid that the battery of the AutoRAID run low and it has forgotten its configuration. Can you check at the AutoRAIDs frontpanel if the LUNs are still configured right?

There is no good troubleshooting with bad data

Re: Boot from HP Auto Raid 12H
First thing: a 12H takes ages to boot up. Be sure to power up the AutoRAID and let it become Ready before powering the D-class (thi guy is pretty fast).
If it still fails, check your boot path. Verify on the 12H the LUN is still there (if not, I'm sorry, you lost everything). You can also look from the D-class by doing a search - does any AutoRAID path show up?
The point is that when you power down the AutoRAID __USING_THE_AUTORAID_POWER_BUTTON__ (or using the Shutdown command from the AutoRAID menu, or using the arraycfg -s shut command from the host) the config info is saved on the disks. If you are using a UPS switch or a rack switch, the AutoRAID uses the batteries to back up the config info into memory until power gets back. Alas! The user and service manual says that batteries last at least... 2 weeks.
Hope it helps... Emmanuel
