Hoping someone can help. I am attempting to recover an rp5470 (L3000) by using "boot lan install.
We got the helper configured on a nearby server and the 5470 finds it and boots up. But, my problem is that instead of getting to the familiar Ignite/UX Recovery UI, the system goes to the "Expert" recovery which is titled, HP-UX NETWORK RECOVERY.
I get the following menu instead of what I am looking for which is "Install HP-UX"
MAIN MENU
s. Search for a file
b. Reboot
l. Load a file
r. Recover an unbootable HP-UX system
x. Exit to shell
c. Instructions on chrooting to a lvm /(root).
Can anyone tell me how I would get to the normal Install HP-UX UI from here? I tried going to "r" but that is not it.
thanks!

Solution
What terminal emulator are you using?
I have seen this with hyperterminal using ansi emulation - this gives a double return instead of only one - try vt100 emulation or putty.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: boot lan install thru helper ( expert vs. recovery modes )
I'll give you full points due to your fast response (thanks!) and it being related to the answer. It seems that something was up with my terminal settings. The screen was not painting quite right so when I hit enter it when to the recovery shell instead of Install HP-UX. I tabbed thru until i was sure it Install HP-UX was selected and everything works now!
