boot without keyboard

Hi all:

Wanting to know if it possible for a 9000/800 and 9000/700 series systems to boot without a keyboard and console attached.

To make a long story short, a system PANIC'ed and on the way back up, it would not come up. We put a console on and it came up. This was a 9000/800 box.

Doing a search says a 9000/800 system will boot (except a D series). But this instance seems to say otherwise. Any ideas?
