Booting from an external RAID via FC
Can anyone explain to me why a B2600 Workstation cannot boot from an external RAID connected via an A5158A interface, while f.i. an A500 can ?

Re: Booting from an external RAID via FC
Probably something to do with the firmware and how long a timeout is programmed into it to detect for a bootable device. The B class is different from the A class.
Actually, im not even sure either of your attempts to boot off a fibre disk are supported by HP. You sure the B and A are supported booting off a fibre card ? Normally amount of time taken to do an ioscan down a fibre channel are longer than on a SCSI connected device and for booting you need a really quick response.
Im from Palmerston North, New Zealand, but somehow ended up in London...
