Hi everybory,
I have two servers: the main server is an ignite server (9000/800/L1500-7x model) and a backup server (HP 9000 D271/1 model). This is my problem: I cannot boot the backup server by the ignite server. I tried this command when the Ignite-UX is running:
boot lan.10.14.0.2 install
Booting...
Cannot find ENTRY_TEST.
ENTRY_INIT
Status=-7
There are not OS in the backup server. The both servers are in the same lan. The ignite server has two net cards.
On ignite server:
# instl_adm -d
server="10.14.0.2"
netmask[]="255.255.0.0"
route_gateway[0]="10.14.0.1"
route_destination[0]="default"
# cat /etc/opt/ignite/instl_boottab

Re: Booting from ignite server failed
Important concepts:
You can only boot Ignite off the built in NIC card on HP-9000/Inegrity Servers.
On modern servers its on the Core I/O card, and its 1000 BaseT on the really new ones.
inetd -l
to fire up enhanced logging if its not already on.
On the ignite server:
tail -f /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log
Do a connect, see what the messaging looks like, it can give you good clues.
