Booting HP-UX 11.23

I have a rx5670 running hpux 11.23. one of the new guys did a "rs" from MP.now the machine is not booting up... its getting hung at
System Memory = 4084 MB
loading section 0
...................................... (complete)
loading section 1
................ (complete)
loading system table
loading System Directory(boot.sys) to MFS
.....
Loading MFSFILES directory (bootfs) to MFS
.............
Launching /stand/vmunix
Size: Text:22623K + Data:5457K + BSS:3802K = Total:31882K

I have tried booting up from alternate mirror disk, LVM maintenance mode, single user mode...
i tried booting from previous kernel but vmunix.prev is not there in /stand/backup or in /stand.

Please suggest.

Have you tried using -v in single user mode?

1. Can you boot off the backup kernel? (vmunix.prev). If yes then you have a bad kernel.

2. Can you boot off CD/DVD to an install/recovery menu? If yes then you probably have a corrupt boot disk

If you can't do either of those I'd suspect a HW problem and start disconnecting all non-essential components for boot (external disk and tape, FC connections, network connections etc.)

If you still can't boot, its probably time to call out a HW engineer.

From EFI shell try conconfig to re-config console.

Maybe your server is booting ok, but console setting are incorrect.

Let consider the server as a desktop..... :-)
Pull out the power cable, keep the system cool for 5min, then start.
