Booting HP11 from a VA7400
Hi folks, We are trying to configure an N class to boot from a VA7400. We can get it to boot 11.11 no problem.
The problem is that due to database issues, we cannot use 11.11, We have to use 11.00.
When we install 11.00, it finds the LUN created on the VA, and begins installation, however when it reboots, we get an error saying that there is no swap device configured.
Yet there is swap configured.
Anyone come across this problem before?
I have included the terminal output to assist with diagnosis, Many thanks in advance.

Re: Booting HP11 from a VA7400
Hi John
To get you started , you can check to see what the system thinks is configured as primary swap and dump by issuing
lvlnboot -v
man lvlnboot
for more options
The search utility on the forum doesn't seem to like me at the moment. If you can , do a search on 'configuring dump device'. I'm at home so can't get to our docs at work either.

Re: Booting HP11 from a VA7400
Thanks for the help Steve, it turned out that the problem had nothing to do with the swap or dump config, when you start the initial hpux 11.00 installation, you have to manually go into the advanced config screen and tell it to install drivers for the cards, hpux 11.11 does this automatically, hence the reason it was working fine with that.
Anyway, thanks again.
Anyway, thanks again.
