Hi to all,
Overhere we have a C240 workstation running HP-UX 11i with an Autoraid 12H attached to it. We use this system to install HP-UX ( 10.20, 11.00 and 11i ) including patches and applications on several kind of systems. According to the release notes of Ignite version B.4.1 one can install Itanium systems from a PA-RISC system and the other way around. However, we can not find decent information on how to set this up on a PA-RISC system. All documentation found at HP points to a document about preparing an Itanium server instead of a PA-RISC server. We've tried the following ( settings in /etc/bootptab ) from this document :
ignite-defaults:ht=ethernet:hn:bf=/opt/ignite/boot/nbp.efi:bs=48
System-IPF:tc=ignite-defaults:ha=00d009000000:ip=190.40.101.22:sm=255.255.248.0:gw=190.1.48.1:ds=190.1.48.11
We've changed the hardware address, IP address and such to the correct settings for our situation but this doesn't seem to work. First of all the Itanium system doesn't seem to get an address at all and second, there's no efi file on our ignite server.
Anyone with experience regarding this ?
Thanks in advance,
Marcel Burggraeve

Solution
I was having the exact same problems, and was able to get this to work. My ignite server is running 11.0 and installed
Ignite-UX-11-00_B.4.1.61_HP-UX_B.11.22_IA+PA.depot.
I used the same configuration as you in the /etc/bootptab.
Prolbem was there was no nbp.efi in /opt/ignite/boot/
I installed
Ignite-UX-All_B.4.1.61_HP-UX_B.11.22_IA+PA.depot
It now has the nbp.efi in /opt/ignite/boot/
plus IINSTALL and IINSTALLFS.
My itanium system was than able to boot to the ignite server.
Ignite-UX-11-00_B.4.1.61_HP-UX_B.11.22_IA+PA.depot.

My itanium system was than able to boot to the ignite server.
