booting problem

Hi

my w/s i appollo 700 series.whenever it starts it boots from the disk and immediately "PID 8 CANNOT BE CLEARED " ERROR AND KEEPS ON SCROLLING.

os= hpux 10
pls guide

Hi,
is the the OS or database startup?
Just asking as in HPUX-->databases
If it is the OS, have you tried the recovery CD?

Pid 8 on the three systems I've checked is supsched. If that helps. (the UP Streams scheduler)

is there a chance of booting to singleuser mode or access to an older kernel?

i too came to know that pid 8 is for suspched but i cannot boot it in single user mode too.when i got to single user mode it starts the same scrolling process and doesnt stop.what is the problem?

Can you boot from an O/S install CD or an Ignite bootable tape or an Ignite recovery tape?
