how to enable promiscous mode tracing in nettl (hp-ux 10.X)? Does hp-ux supports promiscuous mode at all ??

I don't think nettl supports promiscuous mode. See
the DLPI programmers guide for more details:

See the section on "Promiscuous Mode Clarifications".

It has a lot of information regarding promiscuous mode.
