Booting problems in Visualize J5000 workstation
My workstation which is running HP-UX11.11 OS is not booting up. I get the following problem:
INIT:Command is respawning too rapidly. Will try again in 5 mins.
Check for possible errors:
id:ems4 "/etc/opt/resmon/lbin/P-client"
INIT:Command is respawning too rapidly. Will try again in 5 mins.
Check for possible errors:
id:cons "/usr/sbin/getty" console console
It hangs.
I have checked in the /etc/inittab file and commented out the line with P-client. Now I get the getty message still.
getty is not running. There is no recovery CD available. I checked /etc/rc.config.d. Only one file ems got changed recently. Others are old files.
Any help in this pls?

Re: Booting problems in Visualize J5000 workstation
Reinstall the operating system. Patch carefully with the June 2004 set and patch assesement from patches link at itrc.hp.com
I highly recommend this.
This system has been abused and probably has issues you simply don't want to deal with.
swverify \* and deal with errors individually.

Re: Booting problems in Visualize J5000 workstation
Primary bootpath:10/0/15/1.6.0
Alt bootpath:10/0/15/0.6.0
Can I boot with BOot ALT command?
Or they have a spare disk which contains good OS. Can I boot from that disk?
