Booting system from Install CD for 10.20

I have an HP9000 800 using OS 10.2. The primiary boot drive died & I'm having to use the Install CD to boot my system to get the OS installed. I have instructions from IT Resource Center. I'm to do a BO 10/4/16/3.0 ISL, but on HPUX 11.0 It says do NOT interact with ISL. Do you know why I would interact with one OS and not the other?

Hi,

You need interact with ISL when you for ex.
1. Must boot in single user mode
2. Must boot in LVM mainte... mode
...

When you are installing OS there is no need
to interact with ISL.

Hi,

there's no need to interact with ISL during installation.
Just boot from CD and press "n" when asked for interaction with ISL and then after a moment the installation menu appears

bo p0
or
SEA (search for probable boot device)
when you interact the bootup sequence with 10sec?

I hope you can help further. This is my frist time using this forum. I have been working with HP phone support. They are baffled about my problem. I did install the OS from CD and when I tried to use the autoloader or even the CDRom now neither work. FYI, I noticed that the device file name were different. Ex.: my CD was c5t2d0 and is now c4t2d0. Do you know if this would case an I/O error? HP has had me recreat the files several times with no luck. I have nothing to lose, so I'm reinstalling the OS using BO (path) 10/12/5.2 ISL IPL Interact (No) and I received an error of error reading IPL. Bad LIF Magic. I tried again using BO alt 10/12/5 ISL and received an error of cannot find ENTRY_TEST. Fail to initialize. I'm in panic mode now. With HP's help yeterday they think it might be a hardware problem. I'm not sure, but waiting on a new autoloader. Any help, suggestions or other contacts would be greatly appreciated. Even on site consultant help. Thanks Robin
