Building 7440 from 7420 image
1) Updating Ignite sw at source server
2) updating HWE bundle in source
Is there any other best way to clone the server without big pain?
There is no partition.

Those models are close enough that it should be OK, assuming the patches are failly recent on source machine.

Another option is to not clone, and just install fresh.

Re: Building 7440 from 7420 image
There would be surely some changes will be there as per the new hardward is concern like the following new cards will be there:
HP Intgr rx7640/rx8640I/O Rmkt Backplane
HP PCIâ X 4 Port 1000Baseâ T GB Rmkt Adptr
HP PCIâ x 1p 4G FC 1000BT Rmkt Adapter
HP rx76/86,rp74/84 146GB 15K Rmkt HD
anyway in old server igelan driver,U320 SCSI driver are there.
comparing the hardware ,what preactivity I should take care for a smooth recovery from make_tape_recovery archive.experienced command is expected.
