Bundling individual patches
Hi there, i'm a novice HP administrator, and i like to know two things: is it
possible to bundle already installed software patches, so the list returned by
swlist is not extremely long? The second issue is that i'm planning on
installing the September Support Plus bundles XSW800HWCR1020 and XSW800GR1020.
Will this maybe automatically replace the individual patches mentioned before,
so only the two bundle names are reported by swlist. or has swinstall an option
to force this?
Jeroen
PS: is there a HP manual that describes software maintenance in depth?

Re: Bundling individual patches
There is no way to replace your list of currently installed products/patches
with shorter descriptions like you described. The SD software is not at all
flexible in that regard.
When you install the new bundles, you'll still see the list of previously
installed patches and products. If desired, you'll need to remove them by hand.
There is an HP manual for SD-UX that is worth reading. You might be able to
find it at docs.hp.com.
