Bus, Dev & Ftn numbers

Bus, Dev & Ftn numbers

We have a 4 node HP-UX VM Host cluster hosting HP IVM 2.0 guests. For one of the VM Guests we have around 15 VxVM volumes assigned as storage. We found that the Bus, Dev 7 Ftn numbers are different. For one host it is
Node1:
Bus Dev Ftn ctrl tgt lun
0 4 0 0 0 1

Node2:
Bus Dev Ftn ctrl tgt lun
0 1 0 0 0 1

Node3:
Bus Dev Ftn ctrl tgt lun
4 0 0 0 0 1

Due to the above we have different disk id's and this causes the VM Guest failover to have different disk id's. Is there a possibility to modify the VM guest to have same Bus, Dev & Ftn numbers.

Re: Bus, Dev & Ftn numbers

You should be able to reassign the HW addresses from the Host to the Guest.

You'll then have to figure out how to import the new devs into VxVM ( It would be easy with LVM )...
