Can I break the IR root disk mirroring and save the data on the root disk

We commissioned a new ia64 hp server rx6600
11.23

it came with IR enabled when we installed the OS we now have this internal RAID mirroring and we would like to use our conventional MIRRORdisk UX to mirror the root disks.
we need to know if there is a way to break the IR mirroring without losing the data on one of the root disks so we can re-mirror it using the second disk freed up.

HI,

IMHO the integrated RAID is sometimes easier to manage, but this is up to you.

It looks like you cannot delete only 1 disk out of the RAID.

I would do a LVM mirroring to another disk, then reduce the IR and delete it.

Check

man sasmgr
and
http://docs.hp.com/en/netcom.html#SAS%20Host%20Bus%20Adapters

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
