Can I create a bootable DVD with my Ignite backup?
I have been making backup tapes of my test servers so that after trying something, I can easily reload and try again.....but I was wondering if it was possible to make an Ignite backup to a file and then FTP it to a DVD burner (probably Windows) and make a DVD that I can boot and load the backup. It would seem much quicker than loading from tape. Is this possible or is there another way to do it??? I appriciate any info anybody has.
Thanks,
Brian
Thanks,
Brian

Re: Can I create a bootable DVD with my Ignite backup?
Official instructions to do so have not been released to software.hp.com/IUX yet, so in the meantime, it looks like this could work.

Search the page for DVD.

Re: Can I create a bootable DVD with my Ignite backup?
I've been able to make a dvd that boots and starts the HP-UX install.... (as linked to in the post above.... but I've tested it a few times now and only gotten it to work 100% sucessfully once. I'm not sure exactly what the problem was... but the script i wrote whould give you a great start in the right direction.
