Re: can i del the files in lost+found?

Entries found in lost+found are present from 'fsck' repairs and should be investigated and are intended to be used to recover data if necessary. If they are old, and contain nothing useful, remove them.
Do not remove the lost+found directory.

Hi

as michael told i will recommend you to run fsck on the files system with the lost+found dir to recover lost files .

you can delete at any time the files in this dir. but after the delete you will not able to recover this lost files .

Re: can i del the files in lost+found?

Hello,

The lost+found directory should be empty on a system that has (had) no filesystem errors. If there are files in this directory as the result of an fsck you can delete them if you wish (lost+found is an ordinary directory, the files in it ordinary files). But if files are emerging regularly in this directory, I recommend that you investigate the status of your harddisks. They may be corrupt or becoming corrupt.

Hi
If you find many files in this directory it can be an indication that somthing is wrong with the system (hardware, OS or applications).
