Can I delete opc_op acount ?

I have a HPUX 11.0 and 11.11 machines and I want to delete opc_op acount. The operators will use other acount with no shell, just an scripts with several menus to do the tasks.
Is there any problem on this ?
Thanks.

Juanma.

Re: Can I delete opc_op acount ?

I see no issue. Just check the content of home directory before deleting the account.

Hi Juanma,

No problem, check if there are any files on your system with the owner opc_op and chown the to the new account.

Hope this helps,

Re: Can I delete opc_op acount ?

Hi,

If you are using ITO then the opc_op account is used to run applications from the ITO Application Bank and thus will need this account active with a shell.

Hi Juanma,

Also I remember reading somewhere that it is not a wise move to remove the opc_op account from the ITO management server at all.

Re: Can I delete opc_op acount ?

Hi.

As some IT/O applications use the opc_op system account to run, it is not a good idea to delete it. Furthermore, it is not possible to log on to the system with this account (you can check it in the /etc/passwd file).
What you can do is to suppress the IT/O user account in the User Bank.
