Re: can I install hp-ux 11i into my server ?
Yes you can install HP-UX 11i 64bit on a d380. Make sure you read the "Readme before installing or upgrading to HP-UX 11i" document to check on any special requirements such as firmware etc.
You can get the document at http://www.docs.hp.com
Cheers!!!

Do a fresh install and not an upgrade as this is fraught with problems.
There are many threads on the forum stating this.

Re: can I install hp-ux 11i into my server ?
Q: what are the hardware requirements to support an upgrade to HP-UX 64-bit 11.x?
A: You need to have PA8000 hardware, plus a firmware upgrade for some servers. Workstations do not need a firmware upgrade. See "Updating to HP-UX 11.0" in HP-UX 11.0 Installation and Update Guide. The information in this section will help you decide if you need a firmware upgrade. If a firmware upgrade is needed, you can arrange the upgrade through your local HP Customer Engineer.
Q: which systems required a firmware upgrade to utilize HP-UX 11.x 64-bit?
A: For older systems that contain PA8x00 CPUs, the PCD firmware must be upgraded to support HP-UX 11.x 64-bit. These older systems include earlier PA8x00 models of the K- and T-class systems. Please contact your local HP Customer Engineer to schedule a firmware upgrade.
So I guess pa 8000 hardware with firmware updates for selected (K,T...) would do fine.
