Can I make ignite recovery image on CD ?
Hi,
I have an HP Data Centre without any tape drive. Can I create an ignite archive image of a server onto its rewritable CD/DVD ?
Regards,
Berenger

Re: Can I make ignite recovery image on CD ?
A CD is far too small to store a typical copy of VG00 (3-10 GB) and the latest Ignite/UX can create a multi-DVD bootable image. This assumes that you are using modern HP-UX servers.
However, if there are no tape drives, I would be concerned about the rest of your data. It would impractical (and unreliable) to backup many GB of data onto DVD using DVDs. I would also recommend using recordable DVDs rather than rewritable for better interchange and long term storage.

Re: Can I make ignite recovery image on CD ?
Most folks backup over the network with Ignite. Consider that option also.

Hello Aguissi.
YOu can solve this problem by using an ignite server.
you would use make_net_recovery command like someone above suggested.
remember to assign points for helpfull answers.
