Can I use to alocate application data on "vgcluster lock" ( MC/ServiceGuard )

I?d like to use a "Disk cluster lock" on MC/ServiceGuard to matain application data ( application is in package of the MCSG ).

I?m not sure if it?s possible.

Yes, no problem.

Cluster lock is into VG reserved Area. All disk have a VGRA.

Hi Andre,

It is possible to use an package vg for cluster lock. The question should be is it wise to do so. If you use a package that contains an application you less flexible with you package for the reason that you will always want access to the disk. If you put it in an private package you can get in trouble since you "only" have a maximun of 30 packages.

You can use your cluster lock disk for data. This is no problem at all and I also don't see any reason why this should be less flexible.

BTW, starting with the latest release SG 11.13 the maximum package count is 60.

Hi Andre,

As others have already mentioned, there is no problem in using a package VG for cluster lock VG. We have been using it for quite some time now.
