Can not load ignite tape.
We are running HP-UX 11.23 on itanium based system.
I created an ignite tape with
make_tape_recovery -x inc_entire=vg00
But when tried to boot from the tape
when selected Add Boot Entry field
it does not find the tape drive as one of the options.
Any help is appreciated.

Re: Can not load ignite tape.
Shalom,
Attached is a document I scraped for personal use from an HP website.
I doubt its priviledged content but if it is, apologies, and I have no problems with HP pulling hte post. I have no idea where I got it.

Re: Can not load ignite tape.
Shalom,
Let me add that I went to the HP performance center and tried this document out on an rx3660 system.
I thought it has an appropriate scsi device for my tape drive, which was an ultrium 3 drive.
So I connected it to the scsi connector and could not find it on ioscan to add it.
Turns out I had connected it to the built in raid controller, which did not support the device. The nice HP Israel people found me an LSI add in scsi card and THEN the procedure worked.
I add this because you may already have my procedure and may have this additional gotcha.
The hardware raid card, and adaptec 6204 smart array card can not support the tape drive at all.
