If it supports, which VGA card I can go for ?

Hi Guys,

The card (A6869B) contains one VGA port & 2 USB ports. The VGA port works only for Windows & Linux as of now. USB ports works for HP-UX, Windows, Linux, VMS.

HP Integrity Servers and HP 9000 Servers - No VGA Support on HP-UX
ISSUE:

A customer tried to use an A6869B Obsidian VGA Card in an HP Integrity rx7640 Server running HP-UX. But the gvid driver refused to claim the VGA card.

The output of the ioscan command shows an unclaimed, unknown PCI Display with an ID: 1002515e.

SOLUTION:

There is no VGA support on any cells on HP Integrity or HP 9000 Servers running HP-UX.

With the following products, the gvid driver was modified so it would not claim a present VGA card, because otherwise, the system may crash with a Machine Check Abort (MCA) or High Priority Machine Check (HPMC):

HP-UX 11.11: PHKL_33369
HP_UX 11.23: PHKL_34917

The VGA part is supported on Linux or Microsoft Windows, but on HP-UX and OpenVMS, only the USB part will work.

Also, an offical link on the server specification and you can find here (section "Supported HP-UX I/O Cards") that a VGA card is not supported under HP-UX.
