Hi,
I want to config DNS(BIND) by SAM, but the messages displayed after double click the DNS(BIND) under SAM :"unexpected exit: process LANG:C LC_ALL:C /usr/sam/lbin/samx -C -n -P 4631 -s primayr_DNS_server /usr/sam/lib/ /dns.ui exited with a non-zero exit status sh :4804 IO bus error (coredump)"

Solution
Like most failures with SAM, they are usually fixed with the latest patch set. There is PHCO_28124 for HP-UX 11.23 on Itanium computers. If you don't have this type of computer, be sure to lookup the latest SAM patch on the ITRC patch website.

Re: can't access DNS (BIND) to configure DNS under SAM
Thanks a lot
What should I pay attention to between Itanium & PA-8xxx computers when I install patches ? If some patches for Itanium computers can't be installed in PA-8xxx computers ?

Re: can't access DNS (BIND) to configure DNS under SAM
You need to pay attention to what version of HP-UX the patch is for. For example a patch for HP-UX 11.11 should NEVER be installed on ANY OTHER version of HP-UX.
Find whatever the latest SAM patch is for the version of HP-UX you are running.
