Can't boot from CD

All,

I am attempting to reload a system and get the following error message when attempting to boot hpux 10.20 form a CDROM after "Booting":

Failed to initialize.

Failed to initilaize.

Can anyone tell me why I can't boot from this workstation. I have done so successfully on other workstations, and I know this workstation has been loaded off of the CDROM before.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Grant

Re: Can't boot from CD

Grant, I suspect that your CD-Drive has conflicting scsi ids with another device. Disconnect any external scsi devices and try booting the box.

if it boots successfully, use ioscan to find out what scsi targets are in use, and set the cdrom drive's scsi id to a free one.

Good luck.
PS. It might also be that the scsi chain is not properly terminated - check your termination.
nothing wrong with me that a few lines of code cannot fix!

Re: Can't boot from CD

Kofi,

Thank you for your response. I checked the SCSI id's and there is no conflict. I attempted booting with only the CDROM in the chain, and still NO JOY! Also, I have confirmed termination of the SCSI chain.

BTW, this box currently has an OS on it, and is bootable, if that helps anyone.

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks once again,

Grant
