Can''t boot server after installing atdd
I installed:
"atdd 1.15.0.10 GES IBM tape and changer device driver for TotalStorage"
This was required to attache to an IBM LTO tape drive. Since I installed my system wont boot. IT hangs on
"Configering GES Driver for IBM Tape and Library Devices."
I can boot in single user mode but dont see any errors there, the rc.log just ends on the error above.
What can I do to resolve this???

Re: Can''t boot server after installing atdd
I'll stop the sttd starting up in /sbin/
And install this patch.
HP-UX patch PHKL_29818 or later(s700_800 11.11 Cumulative DLKM module patch) must be
installed before installing the ATDD DLKM driver (atdd version 3.5.0.0 and later)
on HP-UX 11i; otherwise, the system may hang when running the
# rmsf -H or /opt/atdd/atdd_claim
script.

Re: Can''t boot server after installing atdd
ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/storage/devdrvr/Doc/IBM_ultrium_tape_IUG.pdf
Also according to http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=620564 the LTO is supported on some systems only as per IBM. Did you check to see if the drive is compatible with your machine?

Re: Can''t boot server after installing atdd
I installed atdd.1.15.0.3.bin and had some major problems with booting up my N class server. It took over 45 minutes for my server to boot up, and I had all the necessary patches. I determined there was a problem with this device driver so I uninstalled this devce driver and installed atdd.1.9.0.15.bin and my system booted up fine. It could see all the IBM drives on our library. When you downloaded the 'current' device driver, it automatically downloaded atdd.1.15.0.3.bin. Don't use this device driver!
Regards,
Brian
